It's mince pie time. Not a tradition in France. We make these delicacies every year, and one time we took a batch to our french guests in the gîte who were staying over Christmas. We collected most of the pies back once they had left; not a mistake we will repeat.
We do share them with friends - we don't know if they really like them, or are just being polite, but it's nice to share anyway.

These look utterly delicious!
One of the musteries I cannot fathom, is that when we've stayed in places around your area, we've seen Calvados on every shelf, at every price, and we've managed to get some superb bottles too!
But over here, in Kent, where apple orchards abound, one of the rarest sights is a 50cl bottle of this nectar!
I eventually tracked one down in Waitrose, on the bottom shelf, gathering dust, bereft of light...
So at least we'll have the perfect combination of your style of mince pie, with a glass or two of this fabulous tipple!
Happy Christmas to you all!
They look wonderful to me.
