Grubby mitts

Our local Lidl sells baked goods that you can eat for lunch or a snack - croissants, bits of pizza, focaccia bread with things on, and so on.   They have this neat system that means you can serve yourself but can't get your grubby mitts on the product until you have fished it out of its container onto an accessible platform.  Neat, eh?

Haute cuisine.

I wish our supermarkets used this system. It is painful to watch some people self serving food items.

The Lidls in Spain that I have visited all use the same system. Very neat.

That's brilliant!

I watched a chap lining up all the beer bottles in a Sainsbury's the other day1

When they stack the bottles, and customers obviously take the bottles nearest the front, all he has to do is lift a squared plastic ring which contains the line of bottles, and drag the remaining stock forward to make an nice even line to sell!

I admire such simple results, and had a great chat with him, as he was quite proud of his efforts!

We came across this Lidl serving sysem on french hols a couple of years back. Had to wait until a local came and used it before we could buy our croissants! It is clever and hygeneic though.
