Project - phase 3
The next phase of the project, once the floor has been leveled, is to put down the insulation and then lay out the pipes and heat conductors. The floor is then ready for the concrete.
Those metal pieces for spreading the heat... I had imagined they would be universal rather than just here and there. Is there a reason for that other than the obvious cost?
Hi Jonathan, when the system is installed on a 1st floor, the heat guides cover the whole surface. However, when a concrete screed is poured on top of such a surface, the danger is that it delaminates over time. So the guides cover around 1/2 to 1/3 of the area, so that the concrete can better stick around them.
How many times do you test it before you pour the concrete?

Hi Tim, it is being held under a pressure of ten atmospherse for 48 hours. I hope that will be enough.....

ReplyDeleteJust doing something similar in my house in Wales - though laying slate over. We can compare notes on how effective it is!
