The birds get far more cherries than I do, but they don't like to take the gooseberries. Perhaps it is because they are close to the ground so more dangerous for the birds to raid, or perhaps they just don't like them so much. But I do find that once the gooseberries have turned a dark purple, I can't leave them hanging around too long, or they do disappear. They're fine to eat when they're this colour though, so I steal a march on the birds.
Those gooseberries look amazing! How do you keep them from the birds?
