What a beautiful creature. What type of snake os it?
It's one of the types of grass snake to be found around here. I don't know its latin name.
You're very lucky. I've never seen a grass snake. Adders, yes. Slow worms yes.
We get the lot around here. It's why I'm reluctant to hire massive great diggers for garden work, and tend to do it all by hand.
I have only ever seen adders and I have made sure I didn't make them feel threatened :-)
Not sure you'sd want to find many of those around.
They're harmless to humans and they're good for the garden because they eat slugs and snails. Might frighten the guests though.
