The centre of Milan is dominated by the cathedral. It stands in a large square a little way apart from the surrounding buildings, but it is crowded a little by them. Astonishing masonry, magnificent marble facades. You can go up on the roof, accessed by stairs (not too difficult) or a lift, where you can get a wonderful view of the symmetry of the architecture.

Wow - that's fantastic; love it
Breathtakingly beautiful but it brings back memories of the Sagrada de Familia in Barcelona, a cathedral blissfully unaware of health and safety issues. These pictures are not for those with a fear of heights. They actually look like you used both hands to take them. How on earth did you hold on?
I did use both hands, but in all cases I was safely behind a wall, on a more-or-less-horizontal surface. Honest!
