A pear tree

There's an old pear tree in a forgotten corner of the garden.  It didn't do much in the first few years we were here, but I pulled away the brambles and clematis that were smothering it, and gave it a bit of light.  It produced a few pears last year, and this blossom is covering it this Spring.    Even the bark is attractive in its strange way.

It looks like a delightful secret place in the garden.

A perfect place for a 'rest a while' bench ;-)

Hmm good idea, though I'll have to wait until the "Move the compost heap" project is finished :)

You do need somewhere for the partridges.

Interesting you should mention that. I am told that the song originally was "A partridge and a perdrix", a perdrix being French for partridge, and pronounced like pear dree.
