Tiling break

Tiles are heavy, tile cement is heavy, and laying tiles you have to keep getting up and back down. Time for a quick break and a walk round the garden.

The garden is coming along lovely.
Those are the first daffodils I have seen this Spring.

All this garden wandering won't get those tiles laid, back you go.

What are the ones at the top? And will they grow in East Anglia?

Hi J, they are a species of Hellebore, which includes the Christmas Rose. Christmas roses flower as you would expect, around Christmas, and are usually a pale shade of green/cream.

The ones that come in different colours usually flower a bit later (like now), and you can get various shades of pink, red and white. This plant I bought mail order, it came in a pack of three, and this is the only one that survived.

They like shade, moisture and peaty soils, and you can grow them in East Anglia.
